Ruins of Saint Dunstan on the East

I happened upon this little gem while walking to the Garden @ 120. After making a wrong turn (not actually wrong, just slightly slower. I don’t do those things you mortals call “wrong turns”, those are for people who get jet lag and that kinda stuff), when I noticed people going into what looked like a church yard, which was quite random for a wednesday at lunch time. So, having a feeling there was something more here, I followed them into what turned out to be indeed a church yard, albeit the ruins of one. The church itself was actually destroyed in the blitz, with only the steeple remaining of the building. But the ruins have turned into a serene garden, where a busy banker (this is still a banking district after all), can get away from all the hubbub and eat his chicken sandwich in peace. Or whatever bankers eat for lunch.

The gardens also propose a great spot for some quality snaps, with each season bringing its own aesthetic to entrance the photographer. I’m not much of a photographer myself, but even on my little phone camera was able to get some decent shots. Nevermind I just checked all I took was this video which doesn’t capture the serenity (I’m overusing that word aren’t I) of this pleasingly picture perfect picnic point.
