Somehow, it had already been three days and nights on the loop. It was time to head back to Ha Giang.

Behold: The most picture perfect view in existence:

(I mean… it’s literally my sites home page)

On the last stretch of our drive back to Ha Giang, I let myself be totally immersed in the view and my music, so now, as I’m making this blog, I realised I only have one picture of the last hour or so, and it’s nothing spectacular. What it IS though, is symbolic.

The vast and sweeping landscape, with the layering of the different mountains, and the Vietnamese flag in the brilliant sky; It’s not a memory to me: it’s a feeling.
Looking back, I’m not sure I really realised just how amazing what I was doing at the time was. Of course I was having the absolute time of my life, but the extent of it didn’t hit me until I was waving goodbye to my fellow loopers, now in brand new Ha Giang Loop T-shirts, board their sleeper buses across the country.
I hadn’t simply seen incredible vistas with great people… I’d seen it with a family.
